Read This Book

I was reading Michael Pollan's very good book "In Defense of Food," when his new book "Food Rules" came out.  I highly recommend both books, they will change the way you eat and consequently live.

I love "Food Rules," which is more of a guide than a book.  There are 64 really, really good "rules" about the way we should eat.  Very, very good  "rules."

Like rule #47 "Eat when you are hungry, not when you are bored."
"If you're not hungry enough to eat an apple, then you're not hungry."

Rule # 21 "It's not a food if it's called by the same name in every language. (Think Big Mac, Cheetos, or Pringles.)

And Rule #13 "Eat only foods that will eventually rot."

You get the picture.  Simple rules about eating that we have forgotten.  It's time to relearn those rules. Now.

Dear Kate, Part 13

Dear Kate,

You work hard and you play hard, that's why I love you.  I wish I could look that good and sexy completely trashed.

P.s.  LOVE the jacket.

Gucci Time

Wow. The peeps over at Gucci dipped into their archives and came up with these gorge, gorge, gorge black and white photos of supermodel icon Veruschka and the actor Peter Sellers for their Spring Summer 2010 ad campaign for three new Gucci timepieces. The pics were taken in the 1960s and really are classically beautiful.

“The images featured in this campaign are some of my favorites from the Gucci archive. They perfectly illustrate not only the glamour of Gucci’s past and the many style icons who were naturally drawn to the house, but also show how this heritage can be relevant today,” creative director, Frida Giannini said.

Word.

Some Kind Of Wonderful

Wes Anderson movies I believe are an acquired taste, well at least for me they were. His movies are highly stylized, and he uses the same themes and actors in each of his movies--kinda like Woody Allen. Even if you didn't know you were watching a Woody Allen movie, you just KNOW you are. Same goes with Wes Anderson.

So I just watched the "The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou" and was absolutely tickled with delight! It was some kind of wonderful. Bill Murray, Cate Blanchett, Angelica Huston, and even Owen Wilson were all a treat to watch. The movie ranks as one of my favorite of all time.

Role Model

I love Pamela Anderson, she's like my hot mess role model.  Everyone needs a hot mess role model and mine is Pammy.  You can ALWAYS depend on her to be extra hot and extra extra messy.  Here she is getting her pic taken at some random Super Bowl week party in Miami.

P.s.  OMG. I can't believe this is my first Pammy post!

No, Yes, Yes, Yes

So the big Calvin Klein reveal for their new X collection was a real letdown.  First, Kellan Lutz's much hype pics are very underwhelming.  Second, the big red X in the middle of the ad reminds me of an editors big red x mark when something is rejected. Like a big NOT. I know the underwear collection is called "X," but still, bad design.  They needed to make the X a lot smaller and Kellan's bulge a lot bigger.  Rule number one when you're trying to sell underwear is always make the bulge big.  Overall the design and pics get a big fat red F.

The Kellan pic gets a big no.

From left to right in the pics below. Actor Mechad Brooks, Spanish tennis player Fernando Verdasco, and hot Japanese soccer superstar Hidetoshi Nakata gets a yes, yes, yes.

Edge Of Seventeen

Karlie Kloss is a supermodel.  She was the model with the most editorial bookings in American Vogue last year, so basically she's Anna Wintour's  bitch; and when Wintour hearts you, you've basically got it made.

And when you've got it made as a model you get ad campaigns.  Karlie's got A LOT of those.  For Spring Summer 2010 alone she snagged Dior, Aquascutum, H&M, and Hermes (gorge pics!).   In the past she's shot campaigns for Uniqlo, Alexander McQueen, Sportmax, Pringle, Lacoste, and Chloe.  Finally she's got what EVERY model covets-- a fragrance campaign.  She's the face of Marc Jacob's Lola perfume.  Ca-Ching!

Karlie Kloss is 17-years-old.   Behold the power of youth and beauty.

My Favorite Jonas

Hello there Joe.  I was never a Jonas Brothers fan, but then I saw pics of them at the Grammys this year and Joe Jonas caught my eye.  Don't know what it was, maybe it was the glasses,  but Joe is definitely a hottie! And in my book he was the best dressed too.

p.s. I threw in a hot pic of Joe from a Rolling Stone shoot. :x

Lost In Translation

If ONLY she stuck to the original Dolce & Gabbana runway look, it could've, would've been so much better.

Bad dress...on anyone. Beyonce in a fugly dress by Stephane Rolland.  Zipper in the front? Why?

And the winner is.... Miley Cyrus in Herve Leger.

Rated W(onderful)

The ONLY album I'm listening to right now is Rihanna's "Rated R."   If you give it a chance it will grow on you and then infect you.  It's really a brilliant album and more importantly it's a chance for her to grow as an artist.

Here are my favorites, but the entire album from beginning to end is sick!

Well Preserved

Through the miracle and help of photoshop, botox, fillers, excellent lighting, and Demi Moore's "plastic surgeon"....here we have the remaining pics of Madonna's Dolce & Gabbanna Spring/Summer 2010 ad campaign.  She looks cute and very well preserved, especially in the pics where her tits hang out.  Just saying.
